Villa La Coloniale

Villa La Coloniale
Western Sicily – Castelvetrano
6 sleeps

Lying within an extensive estate of olive and citrus trees, Villa La Coloniale is a perfect example of how functionality and good taste can be combined.
From the private car park (with ample space for three cars) a brief flight of steps flanked by vigorous clumps of papyrus leads up to the simple, but elegant facade of the house. Entering, you step into a welcoming living room with fireplace, furnished in ethnic style. Large windows look onto the gorgeous private garden stretching out behind the villa.
Outside two porticos, one for dining and barbecues, the other for relaxing and conversation, overlook a lawn, bordered by the drystone walls that are characteristic of the area, and with a beautiful azure swimming pool. Views stretch down the next valley as far as the sea.
The three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are on the same level as the living room. There is also a comfortable kitchen, whose huge window floods it with light.

Le Arcate – Luxury villa in San Vito lo Capo

by f.ajello
the Pool

the Pool

Le Arcate was built in the 1960s, although today it demonstrates little of this period, having been totally and radically reconstructed last year. This reconstruction, without a shadow of a doubt, has resulted in a villa of great prestige, and has created an ideal place for a peaceful holiday.
The villa lies at the beginning of the main road leading into the centre of San Vito Lo Capo, and is about 800 metres from the beach. If this sounds rather a long way away, bear in mind that its position ensures a level of peace and quiet that villas closer to the centre do not have, expecially in the months of July and August.
Pleasurable outdoor living is guaranteed by a large and carefully tended garden, with a pool ( 11×6) and two large furnished outdoor patios.
The villa is furnished with great taste, with an eye to ease and comfort — there is a TV in every room, and wireless internet – and services on offer include daily cleaning, and access to the spa, private beach and restaurant of a local hotel. All these combine to make Le Arcate the perfect place to stay for a totally relaxing and luxurious beach holiday….. versione italiana

Torre del Falco – Luxury villa in Castelvetrano

by f.ajello

torre_del_falco_01 A long avenue bordered with magnificent trees forms the splendid approach to Torre del Falco, an imposing late 19th-century villa a few kilometres from the sea in the west of Sicily.
Built entirely of ancient stone, the villa is surmounted by the distinctive tower for which it is named, and surrounded by a magnificent garden planted with olive and citrus trees, palms and cypresses. There is also an exquisitely tended English lawn with a large swimming pool.
The gentle sound of water running into a small lake surrounded by papyrus and bamboo, completes the idyllic picture. Indeed at times, it’s only too easy to imagine you are in an enchanted place. The interior of the villa is decorated with a sophisticated mix of old and new, while at the same time being functional and comfortable.
The villa is laid out on two levels connected by a distintive stone staircase. Reception rooms and kitchen are on the ground floor, the bedrooms upstairs.
There is also a small independent cottage with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms

L’antica Scuderia – luxury villa near Selinunte

L’antica Scuderia

This fascinating villa was created out of the old stables of a villa, amid a grand feudal estate where citrus trees and olives grow in a verdant valley looking out to the distant blue sea of Selinunte.
The villa is a large stone house, surrounded by a gorgeous garden, overlooking a swimming pool with waterfall. Both restoration and style are outstanding in their attention to detail: the floors are of ancient terracotta interspersed with Sicilian majolica; there are comfortable and ample leather divans; and antique furniture is juxtaposed with curios from India and Morocco collected in the owner’s travels.
The the huge living area has three huge windows – originally entrances to the stables – and a balcony where once upon a time the hay was stacked. It now leads to a small study and to the sleeping area.
The peace of the place is rendered even more idyllic by an silvery waterfall fed by a small fountain in the garden and from a nearby lake.
A large patio looks onto the swimming pool and garden is the perfect place for spending summer evenings.
